Now we will look at  transitive and intransitive verbs in this article.
  • General receptors are found throughout the body because they are present in skin, visceral organs (visceral meaning in the abdominal cavity), muscles, and joints.(intransitive)
    • Special receptors include chemoreceptors (chemical receptors) found in the mouth and nose, photoreceptors (light receptors) found in the eyes, and mechanoreceptors found in the ears.(intransitive)
      The senses of smell and taste work closely together. (intransitive)
      As you breathe, anything that is in the air that you take in enters your nasal cavity: hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, dust, pollen, chemicals. (transitive)
       Your brain determines what you are smelling.(transitive)
      you need to use another sense, such as taste or sight, to make an imprint in your brain’s memory.(transitive)
      Olfactory cells line the top of your nasal cavity. On one end, olfactory cells have cilia — hair-like attachments — that project into the nasal cavity.(usage is transitive but it can be used as intransitive,too)
      You don’t “smell” air or dust or pollen, but you can smell chemicals. (usage is transitive  but it can be used as intransitive,too)
      If you cannot smell something, you cannot taste it, either. (usage is transitive but it can be used as intransitive,too)

Transitive or Intranstive ?

 Firstly, I'll explain what is transitive verb and intransitive verb ..Let's look at it.!
Transitive verbs ;
They need an object after them.
They can take a direct or an indirect object.
Intransitive verbs ;
They don't need an object after them.
They can take an adverb or adjective after them. 
Now we'll see some examples to verbs used as both transitive or intransitive.
WEIGH:

I: The baby weighs 3 kilos.
I:The brain of the monkey weighs as much as a human's.
T:Weighing a heavy thing sometimes can be difficult.
T: I'm weighing the vegetables.

SEE:


T:Firstly,the eye sees objects reversely but then, this perception is corrected by brain.

T:During the voyage I saw many historical places.
I: I'm seeing my dentist every week.
I:Chronic patients must see their doctors at least in every month.

FEEL:




T:I felt the pain when she was leaving.
T: I feel something good will happen.
I:This seat feels very uncomfortable.
I: He feels much better after the plastic surgery.
